2012 Grand National Wild West at it's Best
Over 50 million visitors have walked through the doors of the historic Cow Palace since it opened in 1941.
The sprit of the old west is still alive and well in San Francisco California. The 2011 Grand National Rodeo, Horse Show and Livestock Show continues its western tradition at the Cow Palace October 19th – 20th and it concludes on October 26th and 27th.
For 66 years the Grand National Rodeo, Horse Show and Livestock Show has been the West's most prestigious western lifestyle event attracting thousands of participants and fans from 7 western states. The exhibitors and participants have flocked year after year for the coveted Grand National Champion Buckles and awards. The attendees have returned to witness the best livestock, cowboys and cowgirls the west has to offer.
The Grand National Horse Show is one of the most anticipated indoor equestrian events in the west. In 2011 the National Reined Cow Horse Association will again sanction Open Bridle, Open Hackamore, and Non Pro Bridle classes. The AQHA Horse Show runs in conjunction with 4 days of PRCA Rodeo Oct. 14th,15th and 21st and 22nd produced for the 44nd year by Cotton Rosser and the Flying U Rodeo Company. Rosser will bring his top stock for the 600 plus professional cowboys to compete in the 7 rodeo events for championship points.
Cattlemen's Day Saturday October 20th will spotlight the West's best and brightest Cattlemen as well as a special salute to the Livestock Person of the year.
The Grand National Livestock Show will feature junior exhibitors and open show exhibitors entering their best stock competing for top prize money and the holy grail, the honor of showing a Grand National Champion.
Come early and stay late at the Grand National Western Experience, where you can shop at the Grand National marketplace, taste some award winning Bar-be-que, and dance your boots off at the Cow Palace Saloon before and after each PRCA rodeo performance.
The Grand National starts here October 19th and runs through October 27th 2012. Follow the Grand National on Facebook or check out www.cowpalace.com for more info.
